Week 9-Creation of 1D Connectors Challenge

Aim:

Creation of different types of connectors and join with the suitable connectors

Procedure:

Import the cad model

Mesh seperately the component

Target Element size - 5 Units

Step1:

1. Right_Rail_2 & Front_truss_1:- Seam-Quad(angled+capped+L)

In the connectors menu the seam tool was selected and type as seam quad angled+capped +L

The nodes on one of the surfaces was selected.

The spacing of 5 was kept because the mesh size is 5mm

The components selected here are to be realised

2.Left rail 2 and front truss 1- quad elements

In the same tool type of connection is changed to quads the connection is realised

3. Front_truss_2, Front_truss_1 & Right_Rail_1:- Spot weld with 2 Layers and 5 mm Diameter

The spot weld tool is available under spot tool connections the type of spot is changed to weld the number of layers is 2.

4. Front_truss_2, Front_truss_1 & Left_Rail_1:- Hexa (Adhesive)

The hexa adhesive is available under seam and the connection is realised

5. Rear_truss_2 & Right_Rail_2:- Bolt Connector

The bolt tool is available under connector menu. The procedure is same way as done wit the previous connections set the create hole if none.

6. Rear_truss_2 & Left_Rail_2:- Bolt Connector

The bolt tool is available under connector menu. The procedure is same way as done wit the previous connections set the create hole if none.

7. Right_Rail_1 & Right_Rail_2:- Spot-weld with Rigid Elements

This type of connections is used rigid elements realise this connections

8. Left_Rail_1 & Left_Rail_2:- Spot-weld with Spring Elements

This type of connections is used spring elements realise this connections

9. Rest all the component left Join them with suitable connectors

Conclusion:

Thus the 1d connections were created with the seam, spot and bolt connections were created.
