Week 9 - Challenge 3 - Bumper

BUMPER:

It is the front component of the car body, which protects the radiator fan & shroud and interior engine room components. It is made of plastic. It consists of the position for radiator grille and head lamp mountings.

DRAFT ANALYSIS:

Draft analysis is done to check whether the designed solid model is manufacturable. It is necessary to do draft analysis to the component because the surfaces having complex structures , so we need to verify that it can be moulded and ejected from core and cavity without causing any damage .

TOOLING AXIS:

It is the axis direction inwhich the core and cavity moving direction. And also for doing draft anlaysis we need the tooling direction. It can be created in various ways, depending upon the surface structure .

Here while seeing the given class A surface the visibility of the component is comapretivily more in X-direction. So by creating a mid point on the surface split edge, and with that has refernce line has created in X direction and taking that line has tooling axis line .

DARFT ANALYSIS:

draft analysis done in given splitted surface of class A surace with the created tooling axis.

draft analysis on the solid model created by close surface method. the thickness of the part model is 3mm.
