Week 9 Challenge

1)

ANS:-

AIM:- To generate seismic loading based on Is codal provision and zone 2. Any other data you can assume and input accordingly.

TOOLS USED:-

  1. Load.
  2. Loadcases.
  3. seismic wizard.
  4. Seismic load.
  5. Analyze.

PROCEDURE:-

  • First we have to open the previous week challenge in the TEKLA software.

  • After open the file now click on load tap and select loadcases.

  • Now create a new laod with name as Seismic load.as shown below.
  • Next select the seismic wizard option in the load tab.

  • Now seismic load dialog box will appears as shown below.

  • Now we selelct and fill the required parameters suitable for the structure.

  • At last click on the finish button.

  • Now we can check the loads in the loadcases and apply them on the structure. so we can use those for analysis of the structure.

RESULT:-

With all the above steps we can create and apply the seismic loads on the structure.

2)

ANS:-

AIM:- To run the analysis and summarize your understanding of the analysis results.

TOOLS USED:-

  1. Analyze.
  2. 1st order analyze.
  3. Loads.
  4. Report data.
  5. Model and result.

PROCEDURE:-

  • First open the file where we have applied the seismic load.

  • Now click on analyze tab.
  • Seclect 1st order lenear.
  • Now select loading dialog box appears.
  • In the dialog box select all the required loadings and click on ok.

  • Now the results tab will open ,apply bending moment, shear force and deflection to check the structure.

  • The axial loads are correct as they are decreasing with increase in height of the structure.

  • The momet major force is also correct as all the beam types are selected correctly.

  • This is the deflection, is can be decrease by increasing the grading of concrete in the columns.

  • Now we can obtain report data by clicking on model and result.

RESULT:-

With the above steps we can analyze and correct our structure.
