Week 9 - Attachment Feature Creation (Ribs & Screw Boss) - Challenge 1

DOOR HANDLE WITH SCREW BOSSES and RIBS:

DRAFT ANALYSIS:

1. Input: CLASS A and TOOLING AXIS: GREEN color shows surfaces with no deformation during mold removal.

2. Input: DOOR HANDLE BODY and TOOLING AXIS: GREEN colored surfaces will suffer no deformation during mold opening process.

CYAN colored surfaces will have surface finish issues and will suffer minor deformation as draft angle for these surfaces lies between 0 deg to 3 deg.

TOOLING AXIS CREATION:

For creating TOOLING AXIS, a plane is extracted and a point is located with which TOOLING AXIS pass through at the plane.

STEP 1. Intersects are taken on CLASS A surface in other two direction other than that of tooling axis. For this Axis system is inserted on that point

STEP 2. On the steepest surfaces on each intersect lines are created and bisected as mentioned in tree structure under names of BISECTING LINE 1 and BISECTING LINE 2.

STEP 3. TOOLING AXIS (the yellow dotted line) is created by bisecting both bisecting lines from previous step.
