Challenge

Week 9 - Attachment Feature Creation (Ribs & Screw Boss) - Challenge 1

Aim:- To Create the rib for the Drill Handle considering the design rules mentioned in the video.

Tooling Axis:-

Here, Tooling axis is taken normal to the extracted face of the door handle, the tooling axis passes through a point taken on the extracted surface and is normal to it.

Draft Analysis on Class A:-

Here 3 degree draft angle was taken for the initial draft analysis and the above results were shown for the class A are obtained.

Draft Analysis on Final Plastic Part: -

Here the initial draft angle was taken as 3 degree then reduced to 2.8 degree to make some adjustments but the final result obtained was similar to the initial draft analysis. Hence the same obtained is added to the report.

Screenshots of the Rib and Screw Boss Sketches ( iso constrained);-

Boss fillet radius = 0.25mm

outer diameter= 8mm

inner diameter= 2.6mm i.e D-d= 0.6W

Rib Root thickness Analysis:-

Draft angle = 0.25mm

Top thickness obtained= 1.825mm

Rib root thickness D= 3.021

is obtained after doing the analysis.

Geometrical Sets and Part Body Screenshots:-

  • Screenshots of the completed design in various orientations (Isometric, Front, Side, and Top View)

Isometric View:-

Front View:-

Side View:-

Top View:-

Conclusion:- All screenshots of tooling axis, draft analysis, rib root analysis, geometrical sets and part body and various part views were added in the detailed report.
