Week 9 - Attachment Feature Creation (Ribs & Screw Boss) - Challenge 1

1. Below image represent complete tree structure and publication of Class A, B, Tooling Axis, parting Surface and Partin Line.

2. TOOLING AXIS: Tooling Direction is basically the direction that the mold pulls a part. The mold is built in two separate pieces, basically. You have a Cavity side and you have the Core side. The Core pulls apart from the Cavity and that's the Dye line or the Tooling Direction. BISECTING LINES are used to get the exact medium from the two sides so that maximum positive draft angle can be achieved.

3. Draft Analysis of Class A Surface:

To make sure easy removal of the part from the die, sufficient draft should be provide on surface which is paraller to tooling axis because these surfaces are penedicular to the tolling direction.

At first feasibile tooling axis has been decided (highlighted with Blue colour in below image), keeping the parameters in mind that part should be easily removale and havig cost efective tooling. After deciding the toolindg axis draft analysis has been done which can be seen at below attaced image. As we can see all surface are green which means it has 3 degree of draft, there are two portion where its showing red colour and after carefully analysing it, i found that those surface having 1 degree of draft and as this is class A surface and we dont have rights to change is so we have to ask to increase. but in our case it is not possbile so we will proceed futher

4. Below are the all view of the plastic component, which is designed with the help of given Class A surface after creating the B and C class surface.

5. Rib Design: Rib designed as per givien parametrs whihc is shown in below attaced image.

5. Screw Boss: after Rib designed, screw boss designed as per givien parametrs whihc is shown in below attaced image.
