Week 9 - Attachment Feature Creation (Ribs & Screw Boss) - Challenge 1

General Guideline for Rib Design:

• Draft Angle - It allows the rib to release from the mould.
• 0.5 deg per side minimum
• Rib Thickness - Rib thickness should be 0.4 times wall thickness.
• Rib Fillet - 0.25mm Maximum
• Rib Height - Less than 5 times nominal wall thickness

General Guideline for Screw Boss Design:

• Outer diameter of the acrew boss should be 2 to 2.4 times the outer diameter of the screw.
• Draft Angle - Grater than 0.5 deg For both inner and outer surface of the screw boss.
• Boss Height - Less than 5 times nominal wall thickness
• Fillet - 0.25mm Maximum
• Thickness - Typically 40%* of the nominal wall at the base.
• Height to Diameter Ratio - 3:1
