Challenge

Week 9 - Attachment Feature Creation (Ribs & Screw Boss) - Challenge 1

AIM:

  • To analyse the given class A surface with feature draft analysis.
  • To create tooling axis and create Class B and C surface and form part body.
  • To create ribs and screw bosses of the given class A surface.

Tooling axis:

  • A centre point is formed as reference point on base surface
  • From the reference point, axis system is formed.
  • Tooling axis by bisection method:
    • From the tooling axis line XZ & YZ plane,an axis line is created by bisecting the two tooling axis line.

Draft analysis:

  • From the feature draft analysis,3 degree drafting angle is good in most of the surfaces.
  • Only few areas of surfaces are near to zero degree drafting angle.
  • Reducing drafting angle to 0.5 degree all areas are getting cleared.
