Week 9 - Attachment Feature Creation - Challenge 2

Report for the above challenge is as follows :-

Tooling axis creation.

  • At first tooling axis is to defined to perform draft analsys on given A surface.
  • A flat surface is identified and extracted from the given A-surface.
  • A point is marked on the extracted surface and a line is created normal to the surface.
  • Since the line created is normal to the surface, bisecting line is not requred here.
  • With the help of the line draft analsys is performed on the given A-surface.

Draft analsys shows green colour on the given A-surface which indicates that the surface can be drafted for upto 3 degees and blue colour indicates the draft is less than 3 degrees.

After Draft analsys, B surface creation is proceeded :-

  • At first given A-surface is offseted to 2.5mm.
  • Than the patches are identified and extracted which were left after offset.
  • with the help of multisection tool the patch is fixed and joined with the offset body which forms the B-surface.

Creation of C surface is done after B surface.

  • Boundry is taken on the given A-surface.
  • On the marked boundry with the help of sweep command surface sweep is created with reference to surface and markded angle is 90 degree, length of the sweep is kept 5mm.
  • After A and C joined together, B surface is extrapolated so that it can be trimed with the joined (A and C) surface.
  • After triming the obtained body is than made closed body with the help of close surface command in surface workbench.

Creation of Dog house.

  • After creation of close body, a surface is extracted for the given position of dog house.
  • on the extracted surface a point is marked and plane is defined.
  • on the defined plane with the help of positioned sketch dog house sketch is created of dimension, 12x12mm and height 20mm, wall thickness 1mm, draft given 1.5 degree, edge fillet 1 mm inside, base contact is between 3 - 6mm.

Draft analsys is done of the final body and it shows green on the B- surafce with draft at 2.9 degree and blue surafce indicates the draft is less than 3 degrees.
