Attachment Feature Creation - Challenge 1

RIBS:

Design of B side features on Coin Holder.

First, Extract the inside surface

Draw sketch line for ribs

Extrude with tooling direction at height => 5* T=5 * 2.5 = 12.5 mm.

Switch to Part workbench and give thickness T = 0.4*T = 0.4*2.5 =1mm

Provide draft to the ribs as 0.5 degree with tooling direction.

Now, assemble this ribs with coin holder body.

Give radius as 0.25mm.

Now, create second ribs with above steps.

Distance between two ribs,

As per the rules,

Y/X =3

Where, Y = height of rib =12.5mm and X = distance between two ribs

so, Y/3=X

X = 12.5/3 = 4.16

So the distance should be more than 4.16mm.

so we will be considering distance of 6mm in sketch for being safe side.

Now take intersection curves of complete body.

For Rib root thickness, create tritangent circles by extracting the curves.

Checking all design parameters as per the rules.

Draft Analysis of ribs,

For ribs the the draft angle is 0.5 degree, but there will be some deviations so checking with 0.45 degree angle.
