Week 9 - Attachment Feature Creation - Challenge 1
DESIGN RULES FOR RIB CREATION:-
THICKNESS OS THE COMPONENT - 2.5mm
1) Minimum thickness at the tip - 0.75mm , here 0.786mm - satisfy the rule
2) Draft angle - 0.5°Min - 3°, here 0.5mm - satisfy the rule (Ideal draft angle -1.5°)
3) Distance beetween the two ribs - 2t (Min.) = 2*2.5 = 5 , satisfy the rule
4) Optimum radius - 0.25mm, satisfy the rule (Max. 0.5 - For high thickness component).
5) Height of the rib - Max. 5t = 5* 2.5 = 12.5, , satisfy the rule
6) Rib root thickness - 30% tolerance from the component thickness - here 2.868 satsify the rule. (Max. - 3.25mm & Min - 0.75mm).
If the rib root thickness is more , it may allow sink marks
7) height : distance between the ribs = 3:1 , here 15.5/5.3 = 2.92 ,satisfy the rule.

Draft anaylsis of component:-

Green coloured area is cleared by core & red cored erea is cleared by cavity. Draft angle of the ribs are 0.5°.Crreated ribs are cleared in the cavity side.
Thea is an undercut in the component , which is cleared with help of lifters ( placed on core side).
