Week 9 - Attachment Feature Creation - Challenge 1
ATTACHMENT FEATURE CREATION - CHALLENGE 1
JEEVA R
AIM:
To create one of the attachment feature called RIB on B surface of the coin holder.
PROCEDURE:
- Open the coin holder part model
- Extract the base on which rib is to be created
- Follow the rib parameters for efficient rib design.
RIB:
Extract the base of the coin holder.

Create a positioned sketch, a line which defines the rib, constrain the line and define it as an output feature.

Extrude the line with surface extrude and thicken the surface to 1mm.

Draft the required surface to an angle of 0.5 degree.

After draft, check whether the top surface is greater than 0.75mm.
Now give a minimal fillet value of 0.25mm to all edges.

Assemble the rib body with the coin holder.
Similarly create required amount of ribs using distance ratio 3:1 from previous ribs.
Using formula
Y/X = 3
Height of the rib, Y = 12.5mm.
Distance between ribs, X = ?
X = 12.5/3
x = 4.166mm.
Create the intersection on XY plane and measure for rib root thickness.

create the tritangent circle using extracted line and curves.

Analyse the dimensions of ribs created.
