Week 9 - Attachment Feature Creation - Challenge 1

REPORT:
The bottom face of the coin holder extracted. Straight lines are drawn for making the ribs along tooling axis.
surface extraction of these lines done along the direction of tooling axis. As per the rules for creating the ribs , max height of the ribs shall be 5 times the part thickness. So the lines created are surface extruded with height from the base as 12.5mm and 1mm downwards penetrating the base. These surfaces are then thickened
with thickness of 40 percent of part thickness. Ribs are then given the draft on all vertical faces for easy ejection from mould along tooling axis with 0.5 degree draft along the tooling axis and base extruded face as neutral plane. the ribs are then combined with main body and fillets are provided on all faces on ribs with a value of 0.25mm as per standard.
An intersection curve taken accross the ribs will reveal the profile of the ribs as shown in the above images. it should be noted that the rib root thickness (circular diameter drawn on the base of rib) should not exceed plus or minus 30 percent of part thickness . Height / width ration between two adjacent ribs should be in preferred ratio of 2:1. in this case distance between ribs taken as 6.5mm.
