Week 9 - Attachment Feature Creation - Challenge 1

Objective:- We will create the Rib for the centre console coin holder considering the design.

For creation of Rib, we have do some calculations as well as we have to follow some guidelines.

Step1. We will extruded the Ribs along the direction of tooling axis after that we will provied 5 degree draft angle in the direction of tooling axis.

Calculations

(a) Rib Thickness

Rib thickness= 0.4*thickness of the component=0.4*2.5=1 mm

(b) Rib Height

Rib height= 5 times the thickness of the component=5*2.5=12.5 mm

(c) Draft Angle= 0.5 degree

(d) Fillet Radius=0.25 mm

• We will extract the base surface and extrude the ribs along the tooling direction.

• We will give thickness to the Rib.

• We will give height to the Rib.

• We will provide draft angle to the Rib.

• Now we will give fillet value on the Rib.
