Week 8 Worm Gear Challenge

OBJECTIVE:

To perform a transient structural analysis on a worm gear assembly and find the results.

METHODOLOGY:

• first import the geometry and cut the gear into half and assaign the material to the component
• 
• define the contact between the worm and the gear.
• 
• apply the revolute joint to both worm and the gear 
• 
• mesh the component and apply face meshing on the tooth surface of gear and the worm.
• 
• perform the analysis in 15 steps and give the joint load in form of tabular data such that the worm rotates from one end to other end of the gear.
• 
• run the simulation and find the results.
