Week 3 Verification of Weld Joints
OBJECTIVE:
To check whether the welded joints can sustain the designed load and to compare the deformation, equivalent stress and strain results for the different materials assaigned.
CASE 1

CASE 2

CASE 3

| case | directional deformation | equivalent elastic strain | equivalent stress in welds |
| 1 | 0.092288mm | 0.00179 | 306.4Mpa |
| 2 | 0.091658 | 0.00340 | 251.06Mpa |
| 3 | 0.10308mm | 0.003286 | 262.53Mpa |
CONCLUSION:
From the results we can conclude that stainless steel can be used for plates and ribs for less deformation and aluminium alloy can be used as weld material as it can sustain at higher loads compared to other two marterials
