Week - 8 - Morphing

OBJECTIVE:

1) Practice all the Morphing techniques on Model-1.

2) Perform morphing for the Model-2 and Increase the Height of the Dog houses and Ribs.

PROCEDURE:

1. Download the given cad model for both case and open in GUI of ANSA software.

CASE 1 : MODEL 1

1. Once the model is opened we check the cons resolution mesh deck>perimeters>length>1.
2. Then go for the topo from topo deck to give proper connections to the geometry .
3. 
4. Go for geomemtry check to clear error on geometry, check manager>geometry>execute the visible. Fix if the error is showned.

6. In the next step we go to morph deck>Box morphing>create boxes from boxes group >new>create box.
7. 
8. For proper geometry capturing inside the box we use split option to create regions .
9. To increase the height go to move>mvfree>select middle mouse. There will be two options to select for increasing the height , nodes to select the corner point and entities to select the edge of the box.
10. Thus these steps helps to make changes in the shapes of the geometry.

CASE2 :MODEL 2

1. For the given model we follow the same steps we followed for the model 1.
2. we choose minimum volume for capturing the geometry inside a box .
3. In the next step we go to morph deck>Box morphing>create boxes from boxes group >new>create box.

5. For proper geometry capturing inside the box we use split option to create regions .

7. To increase the height go to move>mvfree>select middle mouse. There will be two options to select for increasing the height , nodes to select the corner point and entities to select the edge of the box.

9. Thus the shapes of the Dog houses and Ribs are increased.

CONCLUSION:

The given model is used to practice the morphing method and changes are done successfully on the model 2 .

1. Morphing is done to change the geometry of any CAD model.
2. Applications of morphing is used to do any modifications on CAD model as well as FE model.
3. After creating FE model , morphing can be used later for modifications .
4. Morphing technique is used in industry for the purpose of improvisation or bring changes on the geometry .
