Core: A core is a Part used in casting and moulding processes to produce internal cavities and reentrant angles
Cavity: The cavity is the void inside the mold that the molten plastic fills. Plastic enters the mold from the cavity side and forms the final shape of the part.
The cavity side usually forms the cosmetic side of the part.
Parting Surface: A parting surface is a surface that separates the mold block into two parts – the core and the cavity.
Parting Line: The parting line is where the two halves of the mold meet around the parameter of the part.
