Week 8 - Challenge 6 - Core & Cavity Design
Aim:
To create a final plastic product (class B + class C) from the given class-A surface.
Theory
Class A-Surface:
A surface type Design mode by the class A surface Designher with the separate Design softwave like Alias and that Design is taken as a input for create it as plastic model. Basically if is created as Aesthetic surface and outer surface which is Basically visible to the customer.
Class B-Surface
A surface is which is opposite to the class A surface which it have some distance wahilch is considered as thickness it will created as Design and Engineering Aspects.
Class C-Surface
The surface is created to connect the class A amd B surface as per Thickness
Draft Analysis
1. The Draft Analysis is important for all the Plastic mode because all the plastic modelo undergoes manufacturing by the moulding and extrasion for the moulding the smooth Releasing of core and cavily we made the Draft angle about 3 degree.
2. In this model first we Analysis the draft by creatting the Tooling axis.
Tooling Axis:
Tooling axis is the Axis line which is the straight line based on this line as considered the core and cavity moves.
Procedure:
Step 1:
Import the class A surface mode
Step 2:
Extract the plain ;surface from the given class A surface.
Create the point and create the Axis line.
Step 3:
check the Draft analysis According to the Tooling Axis line by placing the compass in the line.
Step 4:
Create a Class B Surface By offset the class A surface According the Thickness given in the requirements.
Step 5:
Work on the class B surface if any damage is there patch it.
Step 6:
create the class C surface wahich is from the class A surface and the touches the class B surface.
Step 7:
Trim the Joined surface with class B and make sure it is complete plasitc surface and closed surface and create the solid model.
Draft Analysis Report:
The Draft Analysis considered when the compass is placed and select the surface the colour changing is happen. The permitting Draft angle is 3 degree
colour code
3 deg - Green
4 deg - Red
Based on this colour change we can assure that the product made as correct proced

Theory
core and cavity
The core & cavity are the shaped sections in either half of the mould tool which give the plastic product its final shape. The hot molten material is injected into the core & cavity and then sets hard into shape. The design of the core & cavity is essential in the correct formation of the product.
core
The core is the raised part of the mold and the cavity is the recessed part of the mold. The cavity and core in a typical plastic injection molding machine of an injection mold are the molding parts of the mold and play a key role in the shape of the molded part.
the core part is created based on the required part

cavity
The mold may feature either one cavity or multiple cavities, each of which can be used to create a single part. As such, a single-cavity mold produces one product per cycle, while a multi-cavity mold produces more than one.

The final parts are
