Week 8 - Challenge 5 - Core & Cavity Design

OBJECTIVE

To design the Core & Cavity block for previously designed switch bezel.

PROCESS OF DESIGNING CORE BLOCK

First of all we need to create parting surface of that part.To create that we need the boundary of Class A,Then trim that class A with previously created Class C surface. Then that trimed part again to be trimed with the Class B surface. In that way we will get our required PARTING SURFACE.

Then we have to make the CORE BLOCK.It is the male part that forms the internal parts of thye component.

Here the above fig shows the core block.

Now we have to make Cavity for the same. This is the block where the female impression of the part is present.

Above there is the cross section view of the Core & Cavity block. At the gap place our part forms through the moltrn plastic.
