Week 8 - Challenge 4 - Coin Holder Design
REPORT
ABSTRACT: In this project I tried to design and replicate a complex model of a coin holder. I tried to replicate it with the help of creation of multiple surfaces. My ultimate goal in this project is to create a replica of a coin holder and analysis the design by using draft analysis method.
INTRODUCTION: In the initiation of this challenge I am provided with the CLASS A surface of the coin holder. After that I analze it and selected the target spot for the creation of tooling axis. I selected a base spot which open from one side and surrounded by three angled walls. I analyze and measure every critical spot and created the tooling axis for the draft analysis. After that I created several references to achieve my objective.
METHODOLOGY: The approach to achieve my final goal is started with creation of tooling axis that I created by intersecting the CLASS A surface from YZ plane.
After that I shifted to other important phase of creating CLASS B SURFACE. In creation of Class B surface I started with extracting the important faces from CLASS A SURFACE. Then I untrimed every extracted surface and at last extrapolate everything for easiness in trimming. Then I trimmed every extrapolated surface to obtain the required one. At last step I give fillet to the sharp edges.
Then my final step is to create the CLASS C surface by using the SWEEP command. For this I used CLASS A surface and achieved the result is as:-
RESULTS:
The first result which I achieved is by integration of CLASS A and CLASS B and CLASS C surfaces and the final result in surfacing is obtained is as \
After that I shifted my workbench and gave close surface command in part work bench. The solid surface which I received from that is
OBSERVATION:
The result that I obtained is mentioned above and after that I put the obtained result in under the analysis. The analysis process is known as the draft analysis.

THE FINAL OBTAINED RESULT IS THE DRAFT ANGLE AND THE DRAFT ANGLE FOR DESIGNED COIN HOLDER IS 2.66 DEGREES.
