Week 8 - Challenge 4 - Coin Holder Design
COIN HOLDER DESIGN
OBJECTIVE
The objective of the project is to design the class B & C surfaces to create a closed surface part body and to do a draft analysis for it by creating the required tooling direction.
PROCEDURE
First, the given styling surface is checked for any irregularities and if found any then it is corrected by using Trim, Extrapolate, Split and Join commands. The below image shows that the Class - A surface is clean and no irregularities present, so let's move on to the next step.

The base surface is extrapolated and a point is created at the centre. A line is drawn using the point and normal to surface direction.

CLASS-B SURFACE
The required surfaces are extracted, untrimmed, offseted and trimmed. The offset value is 2.5mm.

Before trimming everything the required fillets are given using the class-A surface fillet radius value as reference.

The outside flange is also created like the above base surface and they are trimmed to get the final Class-B surface.

The necessaey fillets and design elements are created.

CLASS-C SURFACE
The class-A surface border is extracted and sweep command is done with the suface as reference. An angle of 90 degree is given so that the class-C surface is perpendicular with the class-A surface.

The class-C surface is trimmed with the class-B surface.

Class-A surface is then joined with the newly created trim.

In the part workbench this closed surface is made in to a solid using close surface tool.

DRAFT ANALYSIS ON THE PART BODY
A draft angle of 3 degree is given.
