Week 8 - Challenge 4 - Coin Holder Design
OBJECTIVE:
To create the Coin Holder Plastic Component.
To create Class B and Class Surface and Tooling Axis.
To create Solid Body from the Surface using Close Surface Feature.
to perform Draft Analysis on the model.
Draft Analysis Feature:This command is used to detect if the part you drafted will be easily removed. This type of analysis is performed based on colouranges identifying zones on the analysed element where the deviation from the draft direction at any point, corresponds tspecified values.

NOTE: In this component their are three undercuts are present so we require 3 slider but 1 slider difficult to add and eject from the beause this and adequate darft are not present on model so we require to communicate to the styling deperment and make the changes in class A
Draft is the angle in which the part is tapered to allow it to release. As the part cold, it tends to want to shrink to the core side othe mould. Adding draft helps the part to release the part.
Tooling Axis: The direction in which the mould or core cavity opens.

TOOLING AXIS CREATION:
The connectivity of the CLASS A Surface can be determined by creating boundaries or by using joint command and see how weit is connected. This is the first step to check the continuity of the CLASS A Surface.
The clearance checking along all the axis direction will be done by creating an intersection along an axis on a plane by creating new axis system with the model and constructing two lines contact with the walls, the line bisecting the two lines and passinthrough the point will be tooling axis.
Using the intersection command the lines created along the inclined walls, these lines are used for creating the tooling axis alonthe Y-Axis.
For Tooling Axis the line command is selected in which bisecting option is selected after that Both Tooling axis X-Axis and Y-Axare selected along with The point which is created at the center of the part.
The Tooling Axis is created and to visualize more easily add colour to it convert into dash line.
DRAFT ANALYSIS:
Draft Analysis On Class A Surface:

CREATION OF class B:
Creation of Class B Surface:
Class-B surface is the back side surface with respect to the Class-A Surface which is aesthetic surface, Class B surface carries thengineering features like Ribs,Bushes etc. which are on the back side and not visible to the eye. This surface is used to determinthe Thickness of the component.

We can make B-surface in many ways. Extracting the straight surfaces and then by using untrim option we have extendesurfaces. After theat we use extrapolate command to extend the surfaces even further.
After that We trim the Surfaces to the desire shape and make the the offset the shape below the class a surface by 2.5mm.
Creation of Class-C Surface:
Class C Surface is basically a bridge or connector which connects the Class A Surface to The Class B Surface.
The C Surface is swept using the profile as boundary line of Class A which is the Guide curve with a subtype along dradirection. The Direction of the sweep is the tooling direction formed earlier. The draft angle for the sweep operation is providewhich is 3 Degree and surface is swept for length above the thickness of the specified part.

The C surface is refined using smooth Curve options to remove the complexity and patches along the swept surface.
Finally, the Class A and Class C surfaces are joined together and connexity of surfaces should be less than 0.003mm and thsurfaces are merged
.
Creation of Solid Body:

After Class C Surface we need to trim the class B Surface to class C Surface to make the closed surface. After we have the closesurface we go to the Part Design and choose the Closed Surface feature to make the surface into the solid body.
DRAFT ANALYSIS:
Draft Analysis is used to check whether the minimum 3 degree draft is maintained. If the minimum 3 degree is provided then thwhole part is turned into green.
The part created has to be changed to material mode in display frame. Then by enabling compass definition the axis system pan along the direction of the part and aligned in line with the tooling direction.
Lock Direction is applied that fixes the compass and then the mode dialog box is formed by snapping at any point on the part ThColor Codes are classified and Draft Angle are applied.
Then the Running point analysis is used to hover around the part to analyze the permissible draft angles and the analysis is saved
