Draft Analysis of Class A

Class C Solid Model Draft Analysis

Tooling Axis Creation

The class A Surface is given as an input.

A point is taken on the surface by surface point creation.

An axis is defined on that point.

Firstly YZ plane is taken and a positioned sketch is defined on it.

In that positioned sketch, 3D geomtry of class A surface is projected.

Two lines are drawn on the projected slants and after that a bisecting line is drawin inside that sketch.

This line so obtained is the Tooling Axis in Y direction.

Again, a positioned sketch is taken with XZ plane.

A 3d geometry of the Class A surface is again projected.

This time we have one slant line so we use it ot draw a line.

Then we draw another line passing through the reference point at 3 degrees.

This line so created is the Tooling Axis in X direction.

After getting both the Tooling Axes, we bisect them to get our final Tooling Axis.

Draft Analysis

Firstly we hide everything and unhide the Class A surface.

We select the draft analysis option and position the compass on the tooling axis.

We then lock the position of the body.

A draft analysis is then done to obtain the required result.

We check whether our maximum deviation corsses the limit of 3 degree or not.

After the close surface command is given and we obtain the Class C surface, we proceed to draft analysis.

The compass is again positioned on the Tooling Axis.

Then the position is locked.

On this we run the draft analysis to and see that some of the parts are violating the deviation n of 3 degrees.

The reason being the boundary is not fully closed and we have to extrapolate the class A surface to do so and get a fully green draft analysis.
