Challenge: Week 8 - Challenge 3 - Coin Holder Design

1. A detailed report should be done explaining the draft analysis at the Class A surface.

Draft analysis on Class A surface of Coin holder-
Step 1- Open draft analysis and move the compass to coincide with the Tooling axis as below.

Step 2- Lock the compass and check the radius/angles using the running analysis option-

Step 3- Set the color code for the draft angle i.e green for above 3 degrees, Blue for 0-3 degrees, and red for angle value lesser than 0.

Step 4- Click on the surface using light effect, if the color goes green throughout means your draft analysis is good and ready for manufacture-

Now Creating Class B and Class C surface for Coin Holder-

2-An explanation should be given on the way of creating the tooling axis, particularly the Bisecting method.

ANS- Tooling Axis-

Now creating the tooling axis by using an intersection and a dummy axis-
1. open the file which contains the Class A surface, after creating a geometrical set "Tooling Axis" then select the most appropriate position, and in this select a base of the tub/pocket.

2. Then create a point at the surface extracted then draw a dummy line on the z-axis.

3. After that create a plane on the point created with reference to the Z direction.

4. Then select the intersect tool that gives the intersection on the Class A surface.

5. In this it can be clearly seen that a wall of coin holder is parallel to the Z axis as shown below screenshot.

6. the Last step creates a line normal to the plane or surface which can be used as a Tooling axis.

Have a look at the Screenshots

color them green and published them.
Creating B surface-

Base -

SIDE WALLS-

TOP Walls-

Outter Flange-

BOX in side the TUB-

Applying Initial Trims -
To get a final B surface- highlighted in blue color

Creating a B surface using an outer flange and sweep command extends the sweep 5 mm and extrapolates the B surface so that both can get intersect each other perfectly

Now apply the trim to the C surface and B surface and join them with Class A surface to get the desired output.

GO to the Part workbench and apply close body on the coin holder to get the solid body

TO check weather your created part is ready for manufacturing or not we need to do draft analysis as shown below-

As mentioned above areas above 0degree will be hi

ghlighted as blue and above 3 degrees as green and below zero will as Red
