Week 8 - Challenge 2 - Switch Bezel Design
Week 8 - Challenge 2 - Switch Bezel Design
Aim:
Create the Switch Bezel Plastic component through the given Class-A surface. To begin with, the tooling axis for the given Class-A Surface should be created meeting the requirements of the draft angle and at the end perform the Draft analysis on the model.
Take the Thickness of the component to be 2.5 mm
#Check for disjoint surface : no visible defects

#creating tooling axis
extract the base

create centerpoint for cordinate axis

add sketch to the plane

intersection curve

sketch 2 lines on the intersection line

find mean line using bisectline command and convert rest line to regrnce line and hide intersection line

#now to get dummy tooling axis with respect to the centerwall
create sketch wrt XZ planeto thepoint in the centerpoint created

draw a line through the intersectionp

the min draft angle is 3mm as we will need to take the mean value from the dummy axxis 1 and the the current dummy 2 let us take angle of 4deg

use line defnition bisect option to get thr tooling axis

#draft analysis to conform the tooling and draft

need to adjust the dummyaxis2 to get proper draft, lets take 4.5deg

lets try 4.8 degree to to the axis

we have achived minimum 3degree draft. so now lets proceed with bsurfce creation

#extract pocket side walls

#untrim the above section

#extraolate the surfaces

#offset by 2.5mm (offseted surface in blue)

#trim to form single surface

#extract top panel

#untrim top panel

#extraplate

#offset the above panel by 2.5

#extract pocket bottom surface

#untrim the surface

#extraplate the surface

#offset the surface

#trim to join the sections

#messure the fillets
extract surface

untrim

measure fillets

#add fillets. (add 2.5 to fillet value to maintain thickness of 2.5 throughout)

#extract boundry for sweep

#sweepn(3 degree draft . select outer profle towards class B so mqaterial removal is easy in case of flash.

#final output trimm
join class a and class c
trim join with B

#convert to solid body

hide surface
