Challenge

Week 8 - Challenge 2 - Switch Bezel Design

  • check the given class a draft analysis found ok and the side wall draft angle is 1.5 deg approx
  • assumed all the posibilites of draft tooling axis and confirmed that the it would be in z direction
  • making an intersection in zx plane along the mid point on the surface bottom and picking the lines that are coinciding with the wall and making an bisection line of it
  • in zy plane making an intersection an picking the line coinsiding to the wall and making a line at point and bictecting to it
  • the line that bisects the two lines is the tooling axis
  • extracted the side walls and bezel suppoort surface and bottom base and untrimed it
  • extraplated the surface upto the required length and trimmed them to form the approate shape
  • offset the trimmed surfaces individually upto the thickness of 2.5mm in down diretion
  • the formed surface is class B surface
  • the then they are trimed and fillet values are given to form the shape of the class A
  • cross check the thickness at various points that is 2.5mm
  • extracted the boundary and smooth curvature to itand swwep to 3deg with the help of tooling axis
  • then they are extraplated to get the boundries joined and trimmed excess
  • the formed is the class C surface and it is joined with Class A
  • then the final trim is done with the joined Class A & C surfaces with class B
  • then the output is the closed body and checked the boundary found none
  • carried the draft analysis
