Week 8 - Challenge 1 - Base Bracket Design
in base bracket desgining
- study the Class A surface and observe the class A in which direction it clearing all the surfaces
- Then extract the portion from the class A surface centre of the component (make sure it should clear the surface from core and cavity) then create point on the surface for taking the dumi tooling axis and offseting the YZ plane for getting centre of the component
- dumi tooling axis is creating beacuse it will clear the surafce in parallel direction with tooling axis (we can also consider this is our tooling axis but base bracket as faces with some angles we should clear them so that we are taking the bisecting method for clearing this) then create the intesection lines with reference to the to yz (offsetted plane)direction with the intersection command
- extend the parallel line on both side with respective dumi tooling axis
- with the bisecting the line command create the line and it is our tooling axis
- check the compent normal view to tooling axis whther it clearing the all surfaces or not
draft analysis
- after creating the tooling axis we want to check draft of the compent whether it satisfing the conditions
- draft angle should not excced 3 deg(default colour are green means it clearing the surface without any destruction, blue means o draft, red means over draft or any distruction for the component while removing from cavity)
- in draft analysis the one which below the compent is core side and above one is cavity
- make the draft of the compenet that it should clear the cavity
- with the help of tooling axis we can find the draft of the Class A Surface make sure it should clear all athe surface
with help of surfaceing tools and commands i have extracted the closed volume from the CLASS A and provided some sort of thickness(2.5) and Draft analysis is also done for the closed volume
Respective images of toolingaxis ,draft anaylsis and compenet extracted from the class A is attached below in the zip file and catiapart
