Challenge

Week 8 - Challenge 1 - Base Bracket Design

TO :Create the Base Bracket Plastic component through the given Class-A surface. To begin with, the tooling axis for the given Class-A Surface should be created meeting the requirements of the draft angle and at the end perform the Draft analysis on the model.

OBJECTIVE :

1. TOOLING AXIS

2. DRAF ANGLE ANALYSIS

3.CONVERTING CLASS A SURFACE TO CLASS B TO CLASS C RESPECTIVELY.

PRINCIPLE :

  • TOOLING AXIS IS THE DIRECTION OF THE REMOVAL OF MOULD OR CAVITY & CORE.
  • DRAFT ANGLE ANLYSIS WOULD BE HELPFUL DURING THE EJECTION OF FINAL PLASTIC COMPONENT. IT IS SUGGESTED TO HAVE MINIMUM 0.5- 1 DEGREE FOR NON TEXTURED SURFACE & 3-7 DEGREE MAXMIUM FOR TEXTURED SURFACE FOR EASY REMOVAL OF THE FINAL COMPONENT.

TOOLING AXIS CREATION:

1. POINT IS CREATED

2. NORMAL 90 DEGREE LINE CREATED.

3. INTERSECTION PLANE & WITH THE HELP OF SKETCH FINAL TOOLING AXIS CREATED.

DRAFT ANGLE ANALYSIS :

WE CAN STUDY THE DRAFT ANGLE ANALYSIS WITH THE HELP OF COLOR RANGE GIVEN BELOW DRAFT ANALYSIS TABLE :
