Challenge

Week 8-3D Tetra Meshing Challenge

objective: To create Teramesh for the given components and satisfy the given quality criteria.

Model 1:

Procedure:

  1. Do geometry cleanup
  2. Create 2D triangular mesh on the surface, check and fix for minimum and maximum length criteria.
  3. Generate 3D tetra mesh (3D - tetramesh - Tetramesh - elements - displayed - mesh)
  4. Check and fix for tetra collapse

Model 2:

Procedure:

  1. Do 3D tetra volume mesh (3D - Tetramesh - Volume tetramesh - Select the solid - Element size =4 - 3D type = tetras )
  2. Check for fix for tetra collapse

Model 3:

Procedure:

  1. All the components has duplicate surfaces at the section, delete the mid surfaces and toggle the edges for all components.
  2. Do geometry cleanup.
  3. Defeature the surface fillets which are less than 2.5 units
  4. Do 3D tetra volume mesh (3D - Tetramesh - Volume tetramesh - Select the solid - Element size =4 - 3D type = tetras )
  5. Check for fix for tetra collapse

Results: The given 3 components have been 3D meshed and fixed for tet collapse.
