Basic Morphing Techniques in ANSA.

Aim:

To perform different morphing techniques for the given sheet metal component and mention its industrial applications.

Procedure:

Geometrical cleanup:

The given model is checked for geometrical errors and it is fixed by using necessary options under topo module.

Basic Morphing Method:

The geometry to be morphed is selected by the option boxes>new under morph module.

The move tool under box morphing is used to morph the selected geometry to desired shape.

The morph box can be split into various parts by the split option under boxes, to make small changes in the geometry.

Morph boxes is deleted using option boxes>Delete in order to avoid the traces of morphing done on the component.

Industrial application of morphing:

Morphing techniques are used in industry to facelift the existing design.
This technique considerably reduces the time and cost required for designing.
The examples of application of morphing in industry are the Honda Brio (Hatchback) and Honda Amaze (sedan) as well as 2019 Toyota Corolla (Hatchback) and 2020 Toyota Corolla (sedan) car which share similar design with small changes at rear end of the car.
