Week 6-Meshing of Hood Challenge
Meshing of Hood Challenge
AIM :
For this week's challenge,
Follow the below-mentioned quality criteria, mesh the component given below and assign thickness:
Target Element Length = 5 Units
| S.N | Quality Criteria | Value |
| 1 | Aspect Ratio | 5 |
| 2 | Skewness | 45 |
| 3 | Warping | 15 |
| 4 | Taper | 0.5 |
| 5 | Min. Length | 2 Units |
| 6 | Max. Length | 8 Units |
| 7 | Min angle Quad | 45 |
| 8 | Max angle Quad | 135 |
| 9 | Min angle Tria | 20 |
| 10 | Max angle Tria | 120 |
| 10 | Tria % | 10 |
PROCESS:
- Download the model and import it in hypermesh and save it in .hm file
- The given model has a hood having 4 components

- While working on them hide the rest of the components to have good hand on it
- Delete the soild and have only the Pshells/surface

- For each surface get the midsurface using automesh for each part
- Make a geometry clean-up of that midsurface using QUICK EDIT(toggle,add/remove points, split etc).
- For the inner & outer extract as they are symmetry we delete the rest of the half so that it makes the meshing faster and later we can mirror it

- After the fine geometry clean-up as required for mesh
- Mesh surface by surface for the finer mesh for each component

- Edit the Quality criteria as given and check for them

- Use the Tool option with clear quality to have a good quality

- ALSO create a material and property and assigne the thickness to the available components
