Week 6 - Creating connection for Rear door

here we are going to do some connection in rear door of car..

first start with bolt connections..

if there are 2 or more holes in component, we can provide bolt connection there..

here we got the 1 PID in the challenge model...we have to seperate it into various PID to create connections....

now select the ON COG option present in points group in topo module..

after selecting the ON COG option, select the hole (1st layer) using loop selection option.

after this give middle mouse click, go to convert option, select 3D point option in convert. select the point in component.

give middle mouse click and then select bolt option.. (because it is bolt connection)..

then after go to connection manager, select the point in component, and give middle mouse click.....

select P1 & P2 (PIDS), select FE rep type as a Bolt, give search distance 20 and say it apply and give realize...

second is hinge connection

select RBE2 from elements group in Nastran module...

select one hole using loop connection and create master node. do this for all the holes connected to this hinge...

if there are 2 holes, use two node in RBE2. if there are more than 2 holes, use many nodes option.

select all the master nodes to create hinge connection..

third is C bush connection..

Cbush connection is nothing but its a weather strip in car door glass.

now select the Fe2curve in perimeters group in classic mesh module...

after selecting the otpion go to the area where we are going to give cbush connection.

select start line and end line using path selection tool..

after selecting, give middle mouse click...after creating a curve ,convert it into spot line using convert option..

then go to connection manager and select the converted curve....

select p1 & p2 (PIDS), seperation distance, select FE rep type as RBE3 Cbush RBE3, give search distance

select Pbush (if there is non, then create new one). then click and then realize..

now create handle door using the same procedure used in hinge connection.

now next is spot weld..

sppot weld is point type connection same as bolt connection..

after selecting the spot weld area (middle of component). all the procedure is same as bolt type but only difference is that the FE rep type is RBE3 HEXA RBE3 (Bolt fe rep type is RBE3 Cbus RBE3)...
