Week 6 - Creating connection for Rear door

OBJECTIVE:

To set PID and perform connections for the given rear door model with different connection techniques using ANSA.

PROCEDURE:

The given model is imported into the ANSA software.

It is observed that a default PID is set for the model. The imported model is shown in the figure below.

For holes there bolt is used, give a COG points to the holes in parts that need to be connected.convert the COG point to a bolt.use the connection manager and connect the parts by selecting BOLT FEATURE.

NASTRAN MODULE>ELEMENTS>RBE2>MANY NODES can be used to create a custer element for bolt holes when there are no different properties defined to parts.

create ZONE CUT for bolt holes which is not connected to many parts ,create RBE2 connections along with the washer element around the hole.

For the door hinge connections create RBE2 cluster elements in order to make the movement of rear door towards one directons delete the six degree of freedom under NASTRAN>ELEMENT>INFO.

For SPOT WELD their should be two parallel to each other.so that the weld will be properly captured.

Create curve around the perimeter of the window and transform them into spot lines.

Select the lines after opening CONNECTIONS MANAGER RBE3-CBUSH-RBE3 is used to represent Window Connections because windows are connected with soft bending to absorb shocks.

Assign parts for connections of CBUSH elements.Repeat this for another window.

Change the co-ordinate to 0 in CBush Properties so it gets globally aligned towards one direction.

LEARNING OUTCOME:

1. In this challenge, various connections like BOLT, Spotweld, and CBUSH are learned.

2. Learnt to assign PID for various parts present in the model.

3. Assigning of mass for the door handle is learned.

CONCLUSION:

The PIDs are assigned to the various parts in the given model. Various connections like BOLT, Spotweld, and CBUSH are created and realized. All the given objectives are satisfied.
