Week 6- Challenge
Objective: The given component hood with multiple sub-components to be extracted with mid-surface separately for each component, to be geometry cleaned up and meshed. All the quality criteria to be met.
Part 1 Geometry cleaned up Meshed
1. Geometry cleanup is completed for the Latch reinforcement.
2. A separate component collector is created for extracted middle surface and meshing.
3. Have split surface regions for better mesh flow and to avoid minimum length element failure.
4. Trias are removed by remeshing the meshed surface, avoided at the edges and fillets.
5. Have used translate, align node, smooth options to achieve better mesh flow.
6. This component is modeled in a way that completely satisfies quality element criteria.
Part 2 Geometry Cleaned up Meshed
1. Geometry cleanup is completed for the Latch reinforcement.
2. A separate component collector is created for extracted middle surface and meshing.
3. Have created washer split, splited surface regions around hole for better mesh flow, and to avoid minimum length element failure.
4. Trias are removed by remeshing the meshed surface, avoided at the edges and fillets.
5. Have used to translate, align node, smooth options to achieve better mesh flow.
6. It was difficult to achieve a uniform mesh size around the corners. Some areas were too messy have tried remeshing them.
Part 3 Geometry Cleaned up Meshed
1. Part 3 is a similar part meshing is completed following the previous steps
Part 4 Geometry Cleaned up Meshed
1. Outer extract body is cleaned up and separated regions in rectangle pattern.
2. The left half of the body is meshed and reflect on the other half.
2. Most of the trias are removed around the edges.
3. All quality criteria is satisfied.
Part 5 Geometry Cleaned Up Meshed
1. Inner extract body is cleaned up and symmetrical surfaces are deleted.
2. Once meshing is done, few of the quality criteria is not satisfied around the corners and critical regions.
3. Tried avoiding trias and satisfy quality criteria.
