Week- 5 - Solid meshing

AIM:

To perform 3D meshing for car rear view using ANSA perprocessor.

OBJECTIVE:

- To Know about geometry clearing the errors
- To Know about meshing for flat and curved surface
- To create 3D mesh Tetra mesh on the given CAD model also to check the collapse in it

PROCEDURE:

Step: 1

-Importing CAD model

-Press Ctrl+O>>file>>open>>select the model.

-The below image shows the Car Rearview Mirror model which we need to process

Note: Save at each end of operations.

Step: 2 Define Material.

Step: 3

Checks>Gemetry>Exicute> Auto Fix all the errors.

Step 4:

-Before meshing need to set the length peramerter for perimeters and macros as 1.

-also the quality criteria as below

- also the meshing perameter as below (given in question)

- Now start meshing, go to mesh and use spotmesh for critical curved areas and for flat areas use best mesh

Spherical bearing:

- The go to volume mesh module > Define > Manual > Window selection > Creat new PSolid

- Now when we will go to check Volume list

- Right Click > Remesh > Tetra FEA

- Now see the beow image for reference

Similar to Mirror Frame meshing and volume meshing

- Similarly to Mirror Handle meshing and volume meshing

- Similarly to Mirror hold meshing and volume meshing

-And the final model looks like (the below image show meshing and solid meshing cross section)

Result-

Here, we have finished converting the 2D shell mesh to the 3D volume mesh. With all 2D and 3D component quality requirements met. The errors in geometry are all successfully fixed. And also Successful feature capture and improved mesh flow were also achieved.

Learning outcome-

- Have learned every geometric operation connected to the 3D mesh.
- How to create 3D elements devoid of defects like tetcollapse, kinks, dents and elevated edges.
- To creating volume perform tetramesh.
- Alos known how to solve the tetcollapse failures
