Week- 5 - Solid meshing

Aim:

To Do 3D solid meshing of rear view mirror

Procedure:

1)The given IGS CAD model is converted into Ansa compatiable file

2)Then the Ansa Model is opened up and checked for geometry errors through Tools>geometry option.

3)Then it is topoed through face>topo option then all the free edges are converted into double cons lines.

4)The orientation is adjusted per standard practises

5)It is then 2d shell meshed with following mesh criteria

min len:0.5

Tgt len:1

Max len:2

6)3D shell meshing

The 2d shell meshed componenet is defined for 3D Solid property and seperate property is created in solid crad. All the unmeshed area are converted in to 3d solid meshed area by Remesh button. Then Tet collapse:0.2 value is checked all over the model and corrected accordingly.

learning out come:

3D Solid meshing method by using the volume tetra meshTools are learnt with optimum time utlilisation for the given Meshing quality criteria.
