Week- 5 - Solid meshing

AIM: To mesh the given model with volume mesh.

STEPS INVOLVED:

1.Open the given model in ansa.

2.check the model manually if there is any discripencies or gaps or errors.

3.give a topo to the model.

GEOMETRICAL CLEAN UP:

1.Go to checks<Geometry<execute.

2.there will be some errors in the geometry and we have to clean it up.

3.after 100 percent clean up.

4.geometry is refined by using length command>perimeter

2 D MESHING OF THE MODEL.

1.select the quality criteria as per given in assignment.

2.for meshing we need set the element size as 1mm.go to perimeter>length to 1mm.

3.meshing is done using the spot mesh option

4.geometric features such as curves are meshed using orthitria.

5.whereas other planar parts are meshed by using tria option only.

6.mesh flow is modified using the reconstruction option from shell mesh.

VOLUME MESHING:

1.select the define in volume>manual

2.set the pid of the volumes.

3.select tetra fem> in unstructured mesh

4.check for tet collapse valued 0.2. in quality crityeria.

problem faced:

the front mirror part is not getting volume meshed even after trying my best to do it,the soft ware is not responding.I have cleared all the errors from the model and the geometry is clear but the meshing is not taking place.

conclusion:

tetra mesh is done for the rear view mirror applying the quality criteria and the tet using ansa.

learing outcomes:

1.learned the trai and orthotria meshing of 2D.

2.learned the tetramesh in solids using tetrafem.

3.learning the difference between the tetrafem and the tetrarapid.

4.applying the collapse for the elements.
