Surface wrap on Automotive Assembly

Objective

For the given models, check for the geometrical errors and delete surfaces which are unwanted for Surface wrap as shown in the videos. After clearing geometry, Merge all 3 models and perform surface wrap.

Target length for Wrap = 3 mm
Write a detailed report on steps followed to finish this challenge.

Procedure

import the geometry from the file

1) ENGINE PART

Rings Present in the geometry should delete it

1) PID ------ > NOT hide the important parts and delete the ring

2) ENT -----NOT option ISOLATED the important surface and delete the ring present in the geometry

After deleting the rings close all the holes present in the geometry and remove the thick surface (belt) in geometry

For surface wrap on the outer body the engine (water tight mesh)

2) TRANSMISSION PART

Single & triple cons are present in the surface

Ring present in the surface and delete it by FACE DELETE

Over lapping surface make triple cons delete by FACE -------->FACE DELETE option

Close all the holes present in geometry with FACE -------> FILLHOLE option

3) GEAR BOX PART

some triple and single present in the geometry can be fine find by WIRE FRAME mode

Over lapping surface FACE -----> FACE DELETE option and press middle clik in mouse

RINGS present in the join the making triple cons FACE -----> FACE DELETE

After clearing all the triple & Single con,s Do FACE ------> TOPO on the surfaces

fill the unwanted hole by CON,s--------> FILLHOLE option

MERGEING THE PARTS OF THE GEOMETRY

Select first geometry as main Engine

FILE ---------MERGE --------> second (transmission part ) MERGE PARAMETER ------> AUTO FIT ------> OK

FILE ---------MERGE --------> (GEAR BOX PART ) MERGE PARAMETER ------> AUTO FIT ------> OK

MESH MODULES

ELEMENTS ------> WRAP -------> CONSTANT WRAP OCTREE

select the octree to select the pid,s

selected pid move to right side the octree

give the Target length for Wrap = 3 mm & Shell type - trias
