Week 5 Challenge : Surface wrap on Automotive Assembly

SURFACE WRAP

Aim: To surface wrap the automative assembly.

Objective:

Geometry clean-up all parts

Surface wrap with arget length as 3 mm, merging all parts.

Procedure:

1. Open Engine model in ANSA

File--> Open --> (..).ansa

2. Check for unwanted parts for geometry clean-up.

Hide the top surfaces using not option and delete inside surfaces.

Delete dough-nut shaped surfaces in model

Delete surfaces attached to the outside surfaces.

Delete the floating faces in model

Check for any left-over surfaces and delete.

2. Open the transmission model in ansa.

Perform geometry clean-up

3. Open gear in ansa.

Perform geometry clean-up

Merge all 3 models.

Open Engine part.

File -->Merge--> select transmission

File--> Merge--> Gear

Fill all the remaining holes which affect surface wrap

Perform Surface wrap

Mesh-->Elements--> Wrap --> Constant length.

target length as 3 mm.

Select the contents:

Compress the unnecessary PID using Compress--> Ok.

Run to perform surface wrap

Conclusion:

Surface wraped the automotive assembly at target length 3mm.
