Week 5 Challenge : Surface wrap on Automotive Assembly

Aim

For the given models, check for the geometrical errors and delete surfaces which are unwanted for Surface wrap as shown in the videos. After clearing geometry, Merge all 3 models and perform surface wrap.

Target length for Wrap = 3 mm

Procedure

first let us open the challange 5 engine and find the errors in the screen. the complete model is full of round parts which should be deleted.

using pid we are using not option to hide the engine parts and we can delete the unwanted surface from the engine which i have done step by step.

now we start deleting the unwanted surface.

now we have to clear the geometrical errors both red cons and blue cons (triple cons) should be cleared one by one. i have attached the image below.

all the geometric errors are cleared and i have closed the opening of all the parts which is open so it forms blue cons if we cover with new face.

now we open the transmission and clear the errors.

Transmission

we are deleting the round part from the transmission which is shown above. and we cleared the triple cons one by one.

all the errors are cleared.

Gearbox

now we open gearbox and clear all the errors.

we merge the transmission and gearbox one by one. using merge option where we should chose merge with current model and make it auto fit madels and press ok .

so the model automatically alingn to the required model.

now close all the opening one by one and we can do the wrap.

now we should clear the extra pid which are not assigned by doing compression option. total pid 1587. after compression the pid is 101.

now we are gonna do wrap the complete model. lets come to classic mesh and we search for wrap option on the elements option.

now we have to move the property id of 101 selected and transfered to right side and we gonna run the wrap.

after wrapping the model we can see the model which is meshed 3mm.

Conclusion

As per the request the engine transmission and gearbox are wrapped for the target length of 3mm.

and i have done 5mm wrap also.
