Week 5.1 - Non-Conformal Meshing and Solving a Cold plate model
Introduction: Non-conformal meshin is an important aspect of running simulation in icePak as meshing is crucial and mesh blleding could affect the convergence and evaluation of properties at other location.
This study is conducted to approach a simulation using non-conformal meshing on a geometry on a cold plate model.
In this study the model is created from scrath in IcePak and then a simulation is run. The geometry is created as:

The geomtry that exist inside the cabin is put under a new assemby that gives one control over the meshing.

The mesh of the model is given as:

After the meshing is done simulation is run with a zero equation solver
the result is as follows with residual plot.

Conclusion:
Non-conformal meshing provides with control over the assembly that is created where it does not affect other assemblies/object and in the simulation. The study shows that the coldplate simulation shows a good result and better/converging residual plots. This shows that creating assemblies and non-conformal meshing is beeter for simulation where there are multiple objects close to eachother that could have affect on other object if the meshing is not done in correct way.
