Explain the various applications of Power converters in an Electric vehicle. For Example what type of converter will you use for Horn which requires DC and less than 10V. Likewise come up with different applications

The power converter application in the Electric vehicle is DC to AC converter, which we called as the traction inverter ussed in the EV, AC to DC converter used in the EV in the on board cahrger to charge the battery, DC to DC converter using in the EV EV for getting the desires or pure dc ouput voltage.

In the above give example the horn which required less than the 10V. It is getting step down so we using the buck converter topology, In that we using the DC to DC converter. Because after getting the dc volatge , The converter again converters into the pure dc voltage.

Some application base on the converter,

Like Laptop charge which takes the 230V in the input side and gives the 20V in to the output side. In that application we using the the buck converter topology, but we using the AC to DC converter because the charger taking the AC input and giving the the DC output to the laptop battery to charge it.

Another example like, The audio system in the vehicle, which takes the less the 12V DC supply. In that also we are using the DC to DC converter.

When there any sudden power cutt-off in our home that time we are using the inverter which stored the charged battery supply , that type of converter is a DC to AC supply. So these are the application which we are using in our day-to-day life.
