Week 4- Rolling operation

Aim- To Run the simulaltion of dispalcement of the copper rod workpiece.

Objective-To determine the equivalent stress ,equivalent strain and deformation of the workpiece and to simulate copper workpiece has moved bya distance of 90mm.

Procedure-

1.We take static structural from the ansys Gul.

2.we select the copper material for the workpiece from non linear materils in the engineering materials.

3.We edit the geometry i,e we increase the length of the worlpiece by 60mm and by dectraesing the width of the both faces by 8mm in geometry spaceclaim.

4.now we will update the model and we eidt we rename the the compoments as wheel1,wheel 2 and the workpiece.we will assign the cooper to the workpiece and structutal steel for the both plates.we will provide contacts between the wheel 1 and workpiece and thw wheel 2 and workpiece here workpiece is selectes as the contact face and whhel are selectesd as the target faces and we will frictional contact and coeeficient of 0.2. and we will provide cyclindrical joints to the both wheels and make sure we roatate the wheels in opposite direction to z axies .

5.We will mesh the workpiece by selecting the faces of the workpiece of elemntal size 4mm.

6.In anlysise setting we take number of steps as 16 and large deformation should be on and the make sure that we select the interface contact as the offset with ramped effect and we give stablisation factor of 0.1.

7.We will provide displacement to workpiece in the negative direction and we will give displacement valued at the incement of 6 for each time step and we provide rotation to the wheels in z axies and we male sure that they rotate in the opposite direction so we will givw rotaion to the one of the wheel in negative values.

8.Finally we solve the Equivalent stress ,euivqlent strain nad deformation for workpiece and diplacement of the workpiece in y direction.

Conlusion- From above picture the workpiece has dispalced of 90mm.
