Week-4 Challenge WOT Condition Part-2

NOTE :

with detailed explanation and with relevant figures and screen shots a single word document is attached for 4 questions

Question 1

MAPPED MODEL

  • It is used when we want to simulate a model with predefined values
  • this is also a fast process and needs very less time for simulation.

DYNAMIC MODEL

  • It is used when we want to simulate according to the componets used or involved
  • Comparatively it is a slow process and take more time for Simulaton

To change the model type

  • right click on the system
  • select variant
  • click on label mode active choice
  • select the model type

Question 2

Calculating miles per gallon :

  • Speed of vehicle is calculated in kilometre per hour or metre per second.
  • Later we can convert it into miles per second.
  • Battery power is calculated in kWh
  • This unit of measure establishes that one gallon of gasoline equals 33.7 kWh of electricity.
  • Dividing miles by number of gallons we can get miles per gallon.

Factors considered to model fuel flow

  • Battery output
  • Fuel output
  • Vehicle speed

Question 3

HEV reference application with WOT drive cycle

Double clicking on drive cycle we can change the FTP 75 Drive cycle to WOT drive cycle

Running the simulation with default conditions.

Running the simulation by changing grade and wind velocity

Grade 10,

wind velocity 15 m/s

Grade 15

Wind velocity 30 m/s

Observation

We run 3 cases

1.grade 0, Wind velocity 0 m/s

  1. grade 10, Wind velocity 15 m/s
  2. grade 15, Wind velocity 30 m/s

By observing the 3 cases carefully, we find that peak velocity is reduced as the gradeability and wind velocity is increased.

Fuel Economy is also reduced because of increase in external forces.

Deceleration time is also reduced.

Question 4

EV model

HEV model

Simulation conditions for both models

Simulation time 40 sec

Acceleration time 30 sec

Deceleration time 10 sec

Observation

1.HEV took more time to reach top speed compared to EV

2.Efficiency of EV is more compared to HEV

  1. accelerating time of both simulations is equal but deceleration time of EV is more compared to HEV
