Week-4 Challenge WOT Condition Part-2
1 ans -
Mapped model -
- Model used set of steady state lookup tables to characterize engine performance.
- Table provide overall engine characterize the including actual torque, fuel flow rate, bsfc, engine out exhaust emission.
- The using in quasi steady state engine simulation.
- We are using engine data from a dynamometer or design tool like GT Power.

Dynamic Model –
1 - Dynamic model decomposes the engine behaviour in to engine characteristics that are separated in to lower level component.
2- The combining component components in this way model capture the dynamic effect.
3- It is help full to analyse individual engine component overall performance .
4 – It is using in details dynamic model in component level.

Mapped motor block –
- The mapped motor block implements a mapped motor and drive electronics operating in torque control mode . The output torque tracks the torque reference and motor response ,drive response time constant .
- This block are used for fast level system simulation .
Changing the model type –
1 – Open the EV reference model .
2 – The showing passenger car block open by double click.
3 – The electric plant double click and open .
4 – Right click the motor block and open variant open than label mode active choice and change the mode mapped to dynamic or dynamic to mapped .

2 ans -
Miles per gallon gasoline equivalent (MPGe or MPGge) is a measure of the average distance traveled per unit of energy consumed.EPA to compare energy consumption of alternative fuel vehicles, plug-in electric vehicles and other advanced technology vehicles with the energy consumption of conventional internal combustion vehicles rated in miles per gallon.
Calculation –
The block are represent power train block set of EV vehicle to calculate the miles per gallon
Input parameters are fuel flow, vehicle speed , battery power to find fuel efficiency of vehicle.
The distance convert in to miles by integrating the vehicle speed with respective time.
Battery power is consume by total distance covered by vehicle kw in to miles.
The volume of flow rate of the fuel its converted into gallons and integrate with respective to time calculating the volume of fuel.

Factors are affecting –
1 – Driving Behaviour.
2 – Weather Condition. In cold weather condition can increase fuel consumption – 12% to 28%. In summer condition is less.
3 - Weight – The fuel consumption depend on the weight various from different weight loaded on vehicle.
4 – Road condition.
5 – Aerodynamic force .
3 ans -
The hev referance model open in matlab - search the help powertrain blockset than open get start with powertrain after that are selsct the hev model and click the given cammand and open the hev model

the open the matlab

the double click the ftp cycle block and select the wot cycle and set the time , referance speed , wot simulation time

seting the wot cycle than run the simulation

changing the wind velocity and grad -
double clcik on environment block and change the wind and grade

chnage the grade is 30 and wind velocity - 15 and aging run it -

Change the wind velocity and grade –
The change the wind velocity – 15 and grade – 30 this affected on fuel consumption the fuel consumption is increases it mins the wind and grade is reduced its effect on the power consumption of vehicle.
Peak velocity are achieved when reduce the gradient and aerodynamic force .
Soc charge are reduced when gradient and aerodynamic force are increases .Its effect on battery charging capacity.
4 ans -
EV powertrain model open in matlab

The change the cycle double click on ftp cycle model and select the wot cycle keeping all parameter same and select the time 50 and run it -

Open the HEV powertrain in matlab -

Selecting WOT cycle keepin all other parameter same and run the HEV simulation model and compare the output

Compare the EV and HEV -
EV vehicle achieve the peak velocity is fast as compare to HEV .
EV fuel economy is high and HEV is less.
The SOC in EV higher and HEV is less.
EV is reach the high speed very fast as compare to HEV because its motor torque faster.
Rotation and rotating part loss as less in EV as compare in HEV.
The efficiency of EV is high as compare to HEV.
