Week-4 Challenge WOT Condition Part-2

1.What is the difference between mapped and dynamic model of engine, motor and generator? How can you change model type?

Mapped model of Engine:

For older days the engine is controlled throttle movement with help of acclaration pedal and Mechanical braking. for these control lot of power losses and Less Effiency. So after that ECU is implemented. In Ecu(Electronic Control Unit) control Unit the accleration pedal and Mechanical braking control with help of analog signal and get high effiency.

Motor and Generator of Mapped and Dynanic motor and generator (pure Electric):

here i have mentioned mapped and dynamic motor and generator, mapped is static control and systamatic control and it works faster based on lookup table data, Dynamic is output is not constant it will vary because of check with every individual components. it Reperants actual componets.

Difference between Static and Dynamic Engine Control:

How can you change model type?

We can select based on application. Ex: If required same output voltage what we fed into input then choose static and output can vary to input then select Dynamic.

2.How does the model calculate miles per gallon? Which factors are considered to model fuel flow?

To calculate the fuel flow, vehicle speed & battery power are taken into consideration to calculate Milles per gallon

1. MPG, or miles per gallon, is the distance, measured in miles, that a car can travel per gallon of fuel.

MPG in EV:

1 gallon of gasoline generates the same 'heat energy' as 33.7 kilowatt-hours of electricity

So MPGe is the distance a car can travel on 33.7kWh of electricity. So, if a vehicle can cover 60 miles for every 33.7kWh of electricity, its MPGe would be 60.

3. Run the HEV ReferenceApplication with WOT drive cycle. Change the grade and wind velocity in the environment block. Comment on the results.

Here i have selected WOT duty Cycle and Grade angle input is 5 and Wind Velocity is 10 For HEV Vechicle

Here i have attached Results for HEV:

4. Keeping all other parameters same, compare the simulated results of hybrid and pure electric powertrains.

Here i have selected WOT duty Cycle and Grade angle input is 5 and Wind Velocity is 10 For EV Vechicle

Here i have attached the Results for EV:

Comparsion of HEV and EV:

In Hev vechicle have while given Grade and velocity value given take more fule and battey soc is low. In Ev fuel economy is considered in battery soc take battery power to fulfil the input value. Ev taken more battery current while Achieve grade value and accleration
