Week 4 Challenge : CFD Meshing for BMW car

Geometry cleanup

Various geometry cleanup was done to make model ready for meshing

The below pic indicates various triple cones .,single cones ,which needed to be eliminated from geometry

As the geometry is symmetry ,so as to easily cleanup the geometry the half part is deleted 

After all the cleanup geometry checks are done

Meshing

Target lengths for different body parts are given also various quality criterias are given for the meshing

So while meshing these quality criterias should also be followed .

1. Body - 3 mm

1. Lights - 4 mm

1. Grills - 1 mm

1. Rims and Tyres - 2 mm &  Optical Rear view mirror - 2 mm

1. Window - 2 mm

1. Silencer - 3 mm

1. Logo - 1 mm

 

Finally meshed half part

After the meshing and checking all quality criterias the other half part can be mirrored

Then the wind tunnel is designed and meshed

As the volumetric mesh on wind tunnel is time consuming its avoided for time being
