Week 4 Challenge : CFD Meshing for BMW car

AIM: Check the geometrical errors of the given model of the half portion and make the PID and set the target length for the given model.

OBJECTIVE: For the given model, check and solve all geometrical errors on half portion and Assign appropriate PIDs. Perform meshing with the given Target length and element Quality criteria. After meshing the half model, Do symmetry to the other side.

  1. Target lengths for the different parts of a model are as follow:
  2. Body - 3 mm
  3. Lights - 4 mm
  4. Grills - 1 mm
  5. Rims and Tyres - 2 mm
  6. Optical Rear view mirror - 2 mm
  7. Window - 2 mm
  8. Silencer - 3 mm
  9. Logo - 1 mm

PROCEDURES:

  • First we insert the given model on the ansa.
  • Then we check the units and resolution.

  • Delete the half porton of the given model along the axis symmetrics.
  • Then we check the geometrical errors.

  • If geometrical errors are found the we rectify the all geometrical errors of the half portion of the given model.

  • Then we assign the PID.
  • Then we mesh the half prtion of the given model.
  • Set the taget length for the different parts of the given model and CFD meshed for the given model
  • Set the target length = 1mm for the logo and grills.

  • Set the target length = 2mm for the window, rear view mirrors and rims and tyres.

  • Set the the target length = 3mm for the silencer, and body.

  • Set the target length = 4mm for the lights.

  • Then we make the mirror of the half portion of the given model.

  • then we make the wind tunel of the given BMW cars
  • Then we mesh the bottom face of target length = 20mm.

  • Then we mesh the top face of the target length = 100mm.

  • Then we mesh the side face of the growing mesh of the 20mm to 100mm from bottom face to top faces
