Week 4- Challenge
AIM:
To create 1d element on the following component with the given cross-section and degree of freedom.
PROCEDURE:
- First open the hypermesh in optistruct page and import the given component on hypermesh then delete the solids in the component by using deleting option.
- Then using the offset option to create the midsurface on the given component.
- Why i not go with auto midsurface option because it does not capture the fillet area properly.you should see it in the below image how the fillet area not properly capturing in the component.
- After creating midsurface then giving washer plate to the holes of component and meshing the component by using automesh option.Washer plates are used for properly capturing the holes for obtaining good mesh in the holes.
- Then giving RBE2 element to the first hole in the component with only translational degree of freedom and creating the rod element in the RBE2 element at the first hole by using centre node of both top and bottom rigid element.
- Creating RBE3 element in the second hole of the component with all translational and rotational degree of freedom then create beam element in the RBE3 element at the second hole by using centre node os both top and bottom rigid element.
- In the third hole create RBE3 in the component with only x and y degree of freedom and creating the bar element in the RBE3 element at the third hole by using centre node of both top and botttom rigid element.
- After that give cross section and dimension for all bar, beam, rod element by using hyperbeam option in the 1d element and go with standard section in this creating box section for rod, I section for beam, cross section for bar. Then organise all the component and properties.
- Then create RBE2 link for both d & e hole and giving mass of magnitude 10 to the d & e holes.
- Finally create spring element to connect both the component at the sides of the component. The final model image attached.
RESULT:
Creating 1d element on the following component with the given cross section and dimension is completed.
